 8am until 10am - This will be a peaceful march to raise local awareness and call for change to save our future. We will be walking from Thapae Gate to the Three Kings Monument on 20 September for the Global Climate Strike joining Greta Thunberg and so many others around the world. Should anyone decide to continue walking, please feel welcome to, however, the police escort will end at the Three Kings Monument and so the continuation will need to be restricted to sidewalks. We will start walking from Thapae Gate at 8am so please be there before. Please bring any signs you wish to carry with messages you wish to share. would like to invite everyone to the upcoming exposition which consists photographs from antique glass plates that recorded century old stories of Chiang Mai in a photography exhibition entitled "Mueang Chiengmai : Photographs from Glass Plates by Luang Anusarn Sunthornkit" Photographs by Luang Anusarn Sunthornkit, who was also known as Sun Hi Chutima, a Chinese merchant who had been trading along the river from Chiang Mai to Bangkok on a scorpion tailed boat. The photographs captured stories during the reign of King Rama V until the early days of King Rama VIII, giving insights into commerce in both marketplace and trading boat, as well as Lanna culture and tradition, important figures and events during the unification period between Kingdom of Lanna and Kingdom of Siam. Photographs by Luang Anusarn Sunthornkit offer a glimpse into the old ways of life and an important transition period of the city Chiang Mai. The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday 5 October 2019, 05.30pm at Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Centre (Behind Three Kings Monument)

The best part is that the techniques are easy to learn. Decoupage is a decorative art that uses cut out paper images that are glued onto a surface and finished with layers of lacquer. Participants will learn the basic techniques and some special effects such as incorporating gold leaf and aging effects. You will be provided with two wooden boxes (30x10x15cm and 18x18x18) that you will paint and decorate from images of your choosing. Materials will be provided. At the end of 6 weeks, each participant will have at least a 2-page treatment and a log line; an opening scene; a rough plan for the entire film.
